This is a helpful but basic guide to NYC.There's a lot of historial fact/info included, if that's what you're looking for.
The book also covers a lot of the surrounding areas & I would prefer some more in-depth info on things to do/see in NYC itself.
I would also like some 'off the beaten track/local secret hidden gem' ideas of things to see/do - instead of just the main cliche sights that everyone already knows about.
It's a nice quality book, that will hold up while you're touring NY.

I've liked Time Out for interesting ideas on who, what and where in different cities. This version is not exception.
Time Out books are always informative. When I moved to NYC, someone gave me this book. I now buy one for each one of my friends who moves there. You get details on the best values for food, lodging, events and the to do in NYC. Not only a tourist's best friend, but a newbie NYer's best friend.
This is a helpful but basic guide to NYC.
There's a lot of historial fact/info included, if that's what you're looking for.
